Our rescue cannot succeed without volunteers! Below is a list of all of the aspects involved with rescuing dogs. If you are interested in volunteering please fill out our Volunteer Application. Your help is greatly appreciated!
If you can assist in any of the areas below, please fill out our Volunteer Application and submit to our Volunteer Coordinator Shelley Milburn - smilburn@spcaanc.org
Fostering - * URGENT*
Fostering is the most important aspect of rescue. the number of
dogs we save is based on the number of available foster homes we
have. Foster parents agree to provide the dog with a loving
home, take it to the vet for medial treatment (all costs are
covered by SPCAANC). You will also get to know the dog's
personality, what it likes and dislikes so we can match it up
with the perfect forever home! If you think you would make a
great foster home then PLEASE fill out our
Volunteer
Application! We pay all medical expenses for our foster dogs.
Transporting
When our dogs are adopted, we must arrange transport to get them
to their new forever home. We are always in need of volunteers
to help with transporting. If you feel this is something you can
offer, please fill out the Transporting section of our
Volunteer
Application.
Home Visits
Home visits are needed when applicants apply to adopt one of our
dogs. We require each applicant to receive a home visit. We must
ensure that our dogs are adopted into safe and appropriate
environments. We provide our home visit volunteers with a
guideline for conducting a home visit.
Fundraising
Since SPCAANC is a non-profit rescue, we rely
heavily on generous donations and money raised through
fundraisers. If you have creative ideas for raising money we
would love to hear them! If you are interested in volunteering
at one of our upcoming fundraisers, please fill out the
Volunteer Application.
